Boys Varsity Wins Two Area Tournaments! Congratulations to our SMS Boys Varisty Basketball Team for beating St. John Old Saybrook for the St. Mary School Branford Tournament Championship! Special congrats to Joe Griffin & James Miccio who were chosen as our team's All Stars, and to Brad Zsampar who won the Sportsmanship award for that game! Then the team went on to take the St. Rita's Tournament Championship as well! Awesome! [ more ] | |
8th Graders Attend Golden Jubille Mass Archbishop Henry J. Mansell observed the 50th anniversary of his ordination as a priest, during his Golden Jubilee Mass, on Wednesday, December 19th, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford. Mrs. Adler and Mrs. Huyser accompanied our 8th graders and we thank them for representing our school. | |
Author Teresa Pelham Visits 2nd Grade Students in Suzanne DeCarlo's second grade class all received copies of a children's book entitled "Roxy's Forever Home" on Friday, Nov. 30. The books were donated by Suzanne and Christian DeCarlo, in memory of their dog, Amica, who passed away this past September. Farmington author Teresa Pelham and her little brown dog, Roxy, visited the school to speak with students about writing and dog rescue. [ more ] | |
Author Bonnie Feuer Visits Third Grade! October is National Book Month!
On October 24th, St. Mary School's 3rd grade class had the pleasure of meeting Author Bonnie Feuer of the popular children's book Wallaby the Wanna-be. Bonnie visited our class and after reading her book, participated in a question and answer session with our children. The students were then given the chance to purchased signed copies of her book.
Bonnie, a Milford educator, has been touring schools this past year and has done numerous signings at various book stores. She has been cited by Milford's Mayor and Milford Public School's Superintendent for her educational, entertaining, and creative accomplishments. How lucky are we? What a treat is was for all the third grade students! [ more ] |
