Introducing New Third Grade Teacher
We are very happy to introduce Mrs. Kelly Chesson who will be joining St. Mary School in the Fall. She will make her home downstairs as a third grade teacher taking Mrs. Adriane Dunne's position, because after 25 years of teaching at St. Mary School, Mrs. Dunne is retiring.
However, you have not seen the last of Mrs. Dunne! With Mrs. Gorman expecting her 2nd child this summer, Mrs. Dunne has graciously offered to substitute during her maternity leave, giving her the opportunity to also mentor Mrs. Chesson and help with her transition to St. Mary.
Mrs. Chesson has a Bachelors in Psychology (Providence College) and a Masters in Psychology (Southern CT State University), as well as a Masters in Elementary Education (Sacred Heart University). She is certified to teach grades K-6 and has been teaching in Catholic schools since 2005. Most of her career has been spent teaching 3rd grade, but she also has experience teaching first grade, running a school library, and as a reading support teacher.
In her free time, Mrs. Chesson enjoys reading (historical fiction is her favorite), and spending time with her family. You'll most likely find her on a soccer field or at the library with her three daughters.
Please join us in extending a warm St. Mary School welcome to Kelly Chesson!
