Tuition Announcement from Father Aidan Donahue
At last night’s Saint Mary School Board meeting, the budget for the 2018-2019 school year was approved. While continuing to fund the many fine programs we offer, this new budget augments our physical education program and expands the role of the physical education teacher to include more healthy living education offerings. Also included in the budget is a position for an upper grade math teacher.
We are all challenged by increased costs, especially in the areas of health insurance, and while we have experienced double digit percentage increases in that area, we have kept the tuition increase to approximately 1.7%. While no one likes to see an increase, we hope you can see how this modest increase (about $100 per student) will be to your benefit, and especially to the benefit of your child.
The tuition increase is minimal due to the continuing support of Precious Blood Parish, which absorbs the capital expenses of the school, and this year is beginning a plan to allocate regular access to investment accounts for tuition assistance. Your increase is less than half the actual increase in costs due to the generosity of the parishioners of Precious Blood Parish.
As we approach Easter this year, we wish you and your family a joyous and peace-filled Easter and may the experience of the Risen Lord Jesus lead you to a more faith-filled life in the days to come. Thank you for all your support of Saint Mary School, thank you for gifting us with your child to help to nurture in their faith, and thank you for being such a vital part of our entire community of Saint Mary School and Precious Blood Parish.
Yours in Christ,
Father Aidan Donahue, Pastor
Mr. Frank Lacerenza, Principal
