"Welcome Back Night" - Sept. 7th
WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT & HOME-SCHOOL ASSOCIATION MEETING
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2016
What is Welcome Back to School Night? This is an opportunity for parents to visit their children’s classrooms and hear directly from teachers about what to expect in the year ahead. In addition, the HSA will be hosting an event and fundraising fair in the school gym beginning at 6:30PM. Parents will have an opportunity to meet event and fundraising chairs and learn about the ways to get involved and earn your assessment points. Following the final session of classroom visits, the HSA will host an informational meeting beginning at 7:30pm in the gym.
Schedule for the Evening:
You will have three opportunities to visit classrooms and teachers:
Parents of students in Kindergarten through grade 8 should report to their child’s room for one of these sessions (it will be the same session repeated each time). You choose the time that works best for you. This will allow those of you with multiple children, and/or those of you whose children have more than one teacher, to visit several rooms.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not the time for individual conferences as this would not be fair to all the other parents. However, you should always feel that you could email any teacher to schedule an appointment for conference if needed.
HSA Event & Fundraising Fair:
Event and fundraising chairs and volunteers will have tables set up in the school gym beginning at 6:30pm until 7:30PM and following the HSA meeting. Please stop by before or after your classroom visit to learn more about the various events and fundraisers hosted by the HSA throughout the year.
HSA Informational Meeting:
Mr. Lacerenza and Deacon Hoffman and/or Father Donahue, will speak. The HSA Executive Board and certain Event/Fundraising Chairs will provide information on upcoming events and fundraisers and our goals for the year ahead. This meeting will begin at 7:30PM. We ask that everyone be seated at this time. There should be no business at the various tables during the meeting so not to interfere with that is being discussed. (There will be an opportunity to visit the tables again following the meeting).
In addition to all the great information that will be shared there are plenty of reasons to attend!
Refreshments will be served by our HSA Hospitality Committee (available from 6:30 through 7:30 and after the business); and
There will be special door prizes!
One door prize ticket per family. Pick up your ticket upon entrance to gym, before the HSA business meeting begins. Raffle winners chosen at end of meeting; winner must be present to win.
A Special Note to Preschool Parents:
Although there won’t be anything happening at the Preschool (you had your Open House on August 30th) you are invited and encouraged to come to this meeting, have some refreshments and become involved with the many activities and events of your Home-School Association.
