The purpose of Saint Mary School is to educate the whole child through programs encompassing the development of the students. This will enable students to become contributing members of the school, parish, and community.
St. Mary School recognizes the individuality of each student and strives to develop a well-rounded Christian personality. This will be reflected in a wholesome attitude and a respect for self and others as exemplified by Jesus in the gospel.
As a staff, we believe that a gospel-rooted educational environment where students experience Christian community service, students will be encouraged to integrate faith and Christian values into their daily lives and thus be provided with a healthy attitude which they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
To that end, we strive to work in cooperation with parents to develop a climate of catholic educational excellence and a curriculum that is relevant to daily life.
From the Principal's Desk...
The weather is finally cooling down and the leaves are starting to turn. The Carnival is but a happy memory and we await our annual Halloween Party as we move through the month of October. Believe it or not, we are already half way through the first marking period as teachers are arranging conferences with parents. Time sure flies!
I want to thank our wonderful supportive community. Thanks to the recommendation of the SMS Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, we did a Dress Down to raise funds for our fellow U.S. citizens living in Puerto Rico which was devastated by the recent Hurricane. The NJHS did their own research to discover that 90% of anything given to UNICEF goes directly to this cause - therefore, this is the group where this money will go.
Thank you to everyone, who just like our Dress Down for Houston in September and our October Food Drive for the Precious Blood Parish's Food Bank again showed how we do not only say the words but we actually live the words of our Motto:
LIVE THE MESSAGE OF JESUS!
